Pembrokeshire County Council’s Family Information Service (FIS) has been presented with an award for the quality of its service.
Anthony Ellison from the National Association of Families Information Services (NAFIS) presented the Families First Quality Award to team members at County Hall recently.
The award comes from the Family and Childcare Trust – the leading UK charity campaigning on childcare and family life – and recognises the quality of work provided by the Pembrokeshire FIS team.
Councillor Sue Perkins, Cabinet Member for Children and Safeguarding said it was always satisfying when one of the council’s services was recognised for the quality of its work at national level.
“The Family Information Service provides essential support and advice to parents and carers across the county and I am delighted that their hard work and commitment has been rewarded nationally as best practise,” she said.
Head of Service, Allison Parkinson, said the Family Information Service was available for all parents and carers with children up to 19.
“We can help support people understand their childcare options, find things to do in the holidays, return to work options, parenting and lots more,” she said.
