In a meeting on Monday 28 September 2015, the Learning Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee decided to support Cabinet’s original decision to close Cwmpadarn School.
The original decision was referred to the attention of the Scrutiny Committee following the decision being called in by councillors.
Further scrutiny was rigorously and thoroughly given to the decision. Local Members presented a very detailed analysis of future developments within the Aberystwyth area, before committee members opted to support Cabinet’s decision by 10 to 2.
A Statutory Notice will now be published, in line with the requirements of the Welsh Government Statutory Code.
