July 2015 is Scams Awareness Month. Wales Against Scams Partnerships (WASP) are working alongside Age Cymru, The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, and Trading Standards to promote Scam Awareness Month in July 2015.
The initiative recognises the fact that scams, not only affect people financially, particularly the elderly, but also emotionally, leading to a lack of confidence, lack of self-esteem, and in many cases leading to a sense of shame.
It is therefore extremely important to ensure that the people of Ceredigion and Wales, are aware of the various scams that are out there, the harm that they can cause, and how to deal with them.
