Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest, featuring a beer festival and a travelling carnival, and is held annually in Munich, Bavaria, from mid or late September to the first Sunday in October, with more than six million international and national visitors attending the event.

An event now becoming more common in the UK with many pubs stocking German Beers and breweries producing their take on German styled beers.

One such brewery is Mumbles Brewery in Swansea, so if you can’t make it to Oktoberfest then Oktoberfest can come to you.

Their German styled offering is called Murmelt, and is a real ale lager at 4.2% made with classic German Pilzen malts and Tettnag hops which produce a crisp refreshing real ale version of a German lager.

The bottle conditioned version won a Gold Award in the Standard Lagers & Pilsners Section at the SIBA Wales & West Beer Festival in 2017. Interesting fact, Murmelt is German for Mumbles!

Once Oktoberfest and Halloween are out of the way we turn our eyes towards Christmas.

We’re pleased to announce we’ve launched the Legendary 12 Beers of Christmas again this year.
