PBP Foodbank in Kidwelly received a festive donation from local housebuilder Dandara to go towards its #FeedAFamily4Xmas campaign, helping those in need this Winter with a Christmas meal.

According to a new report from the Bevan Foundation, around a quarter of people in Wales have been skipping meals due to the current cost of living[1]. With the number of parcels given out in food banks across the country having risen by more than 20% since before the pandemic[2], people are utilising foodbanks now more than ever.

To support the local Kidwelly community, Dandara, who is building nearby at Golwg Gwendraeth, has donated £500 towards PBP Foodbank in Kidwelly which will be used to provide meals for families this Christmas, including starters, Christmas dinners, deserts and sweet treats.

Sara Taylor, Sales Director at Dandara Wales & West, commented: “Christmas can be a really hard time for so many people, and as we build communities in Kidwelly, we are privileged to help the Foodbank as they support those in need this Winter. By providing Christmas meals to families, it ensures no one goes hungry and is able to enjoy the day.”

Jonathan, from PBP Foodbank, adds: “As foodbank use increases during the Christmas period, it is important that everyone gets the opportunity to eat a good meal. Our campaign helps spread awareness of the struggles so many face, and the donation from Dandara has made a great difference to the meals we can supply.”
