With the Halloween season coming, here’s something mysterious to fool the eye!
Although we mainly stock Welsh beers we do have a number of interesting guest breweries. Don’t let the picture fool you, this month we’re looking at a stout!
Yes that’s right, it’s a white stout from one of our guest breweries Alphabet Brewing Co. Imagined initially in the heart of Manchester in 2014 they relied upon the city’s lively culture to shape their beer but have now relocated to St Ives.
I’ve tried a number of white stouts with varying results but this mad mad beer really hits the remit.
The base beer is sweet with oats, big body and lactose. A reserved addition of Columbus hops allows the chosen coffee beans from Yallah to really sing across in the flavour and aroma. Coming in at a hefty 6.6% this coffee white stout looks like a Pale but close your eyes and you’re drinking a stout.
This really works.
