Aldi Proposes New Food Store in Llanelli representing £7 million pounds of investment.

Award-winning discount food retailer Aldi is excited to announce plans for a new, larger, replacement food store in Llanelli. The proposed store aims to improve access to Aldi’s award-winning range of high-quality, low-cost food.  

Key Details of the Proposed Aldi Store in Llanelli:

1. An investment of £7 million into the local economy, benefiting people in Llanelli and the wider area. 
2. A new, larger, community food store with a net retail sales area of 1,051 sqm.  
3. Creating up to 40 new jobs paid at an industry-leading rate and above the National Living Wage with Store Assistants paid a minimum of £13.50 an hour. 
4. A site with a total 133 car parking spaces including six accessible spaces and nine parent & child spaces.  
5. Eight electric vehicle charging points with additional passive infrastructure installed, so a further 26 points can be added in the future. 
6. Additional employment opportunities created during construction and supported through the supply chain. 
7. Attractive landscaping incorporated around the site to enhance its appearance.

The proposal follows the closure of Aldi’s former town centre store, which was unsuitable due to site constraints and eventually repurposed as a Pure Gym. Against this backdrop, the Sandy Road store proposal represents a renewal of our commitment to Llanelli and will provide local residents with much-needed local shopping facilities. Following the current building becoming unsuitable for their needs, Pinopolis are seeking to move to new premises in Llanelli, subject to finding an appropriate site.
