Almost a year after the community of Llangennech and Bryn ward voted in the last By-Election, the community was back out once again.
Reform UK Wales’s Carmelo Colasanto had won the seat by 694 votes, but in May 2026 he had resigned from the County Council and Community Council due to him winning a seat in the Senedd for Reform UK Wales.
The results from the ward are as following.
Iwan Griffiths – Plaid Cymru – 483 – 41.1% +11.0
Jordan Sargent – Welsh Labour 338 – 28.9% +5.3
Gavin Rashbrook – Reform UK Wales – 283 – 24.2% -18.9
Craig Griffiths – Conservatives – 38 – 3.3% +2.4
Sean Hogan – Indépendant – 11 – 0.9% New
Michael Willis – The Green Party – 8 – 0.7% New
Justin Griffiths – Liberal Democrats – 7 – 0.6% -1.0
Overall a 28.1% turnout 1186,, Iwan Griffiths Plaid Cymru is elected, with 483 votes.
