Parc y Scarlets will once again welcome international women’s football this autumn as Cymru Women take on Albania in a 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup play-off.

The match will take place on Tuesday 13 October, with kick-off at 7.15pm, bringing another major sporting occasion to Carmarthenshire.

Cymru return to Llanelli following their dominant victory over Montenegro at Parc y Scarlets in March during the group stages of the World Cup qualifying campaign. The fixture attracted strong local support and showcased the growing profile of women’s football in Wales.

Hosting high-profile sporting events such as this continues to strengthen Carmarthenshire’s reputation as a destination for major competitions, while providing opportunities for local communities to experience elite sport on their doorstep.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, Cllr Hazel Evans, said:

Following the success of Cymru Women’s visit to Parc y Scarlets earlier this year, we are delighted to welcome the team back to Carmarthenshire for another significant fixture.

Hosting international sporting events of this calibre brings visitors to the county, showcases our excellent facilities and highlights Carmarthenshire’s ability to host major occasions. It is also a fantastic opportunity for local communities to see elite athletes competing at the highest level and to celebrate the continued growth of women’s sport.”

Tickets for the match are available through the Football Association of Wales.
