On Saturday, Keep Glanymor Tidy were out and about in the community as part of Keep Wales Tidy action month to Be Involved, Be Proud and Be Tidy.
Llanelli Town Councillor Sean Rees said:
“We had a very successful day and it was great to see such community spirit. Thanks to everyone who joined us. We undertook a litter pick in the Morfa area on Saturday morning and in the afternoon had a clean up at Llanelli Beach.
“I’d like to thank Keep Wales Tidy Carmarthenshire for their support and the County Council’s Environment department for providing equipment as part of their ‘Pride In Your Patch’ project. Thanks also to all of the local businesses in the community who displayed advertising posters of the event. It really was a team effort.
“I set up ‘Keep Glanymor Tidy’ and we have had many success stories over the past year. We are now growing in numbers. We’ve been involved in a number of clean-up operations including taking action on fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling. There is still a lot more to do but together we can make a difference.”
