Ysgol Maes Y Morfa have announced the winners of their St. David’s Day Card Competition.
The competition which formed part of a homework activity was promoted as part of the ‘Criw Cymraeg’ Campus initiative at the School.
Pupils were asked to design a card to celebrate St. David’s Day with a theme of all things Welsh and to include at least one written message in the Welsh Language.
The competition was sponsored by Sean Rees, Llanelli Town Councillor for the Glanymor Ward.
A judging panel visited the School on Monday 2nd March to view all the entries which included the Rev. Eldon Phillips and Benita and William Rees from the Glanymor & Tyisha History Society.
The top 3 entries all received certificates for their work.
Councillor Rees added:
“Well done to all the children of Ysgol Maes Y Morfa for their excellent work and congratulations to our winners – Vanessa, Cian and Lucy.
“I know the judges found it very difficult to decide as all of the entries were fantastic and once again of such a very high standard.”
