The first meeting of the Llanelli Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board took place on Thursday 23 July 2026 at the Thomas Armsin Llanelli, bringing together local organisations, businesses, community representatives and residents who applied via the open application process to begin shaping an exciting new programme of investment for the area.
The meeting marked the official launch of a collaborative initiative that will oversee the delivery of the UK Government’s Pride in Place Programme, which will invest £20 million over the next ten years into Tyisha, Glanymor, Bigyn, Elli, Lleidi and Llanelli Town Centre. The funding aims to strengthen communities, improve neighbourhoods, and help restore pride in the places where people live and work.
Attendees were introduced to the vision of the programme and discussed how the Neighbourhood Board will work in partnership with local people to identify priorities and ensure that investment reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.
The Board will bring together representatives from across the community to ensure local voices remain at the heart of decision-making.
The Neighbourhood Board looks forward to engaging with residents, businesses and community organisations over the coming months as plans begin to take shape.
