Shoppers and visitors can now enjoy reduced parking in Neath and Port Talbot town centres.
The reduced tariffs were implemented last week following a review of town centre parking in the two towns before Christmas. Parking charges in the county borough were last reviewed and changed in 2014.
To help increase car park usage, Councillors had agreed to trial a 30p per hour reduction of parking charges in all short stay car parks in Neath and Port Talbot town centres, saving motorists 30p per hour across the schedule of charges.
This means that motorists now pay £1 to park up to one hour and £1.50 up to 2 hours and £2 for three hours. The all-day parking charge is £3.
The new tariff will be trialled for a 12 month period and reviewed to see whether it has resulted in an increase in car park use.
