People and businesses are being asked for their feedback on changes which have been made in Carmarthenshire’s three main towns as part of Covid-19 safety measures.

These changes included bringing in pedestrianised areas in Llanelli and Carmarthen to encourage people to safely return to our towns following the lifting of the first lockdown.

The changes also made space for businesses to trade outdoors whilst allowing people to keep their distance from others in traffic free streets.

Many businesses embraced the temporary changes to put al fresco seating areas outside for people to meet safely.

The changes were driven by the Covid-19 pandemic and were introduced on a temporary basis which would be reviewed.

Now, a public consultation is underway to gather people’s opinions as part of that review.

“Cllr Hazel Evans, Executive Board Member for Environment, said: “These temporary changes were introduced to support our town centres recover from the impact of the lockdown and allow people to shop and meet with people safely. We have taken feedback on board since August and made some changes already. Now this consultation will provide another opportunity to reflect and share your opinions so we can review the impact of these changes and also look ahead to the future.”
