From the 1st January 2016 the Welsh Government will be introducing a requirement for sprinklers to be installed in all new residential homes.
The need for sprinklers in houses and flats is among the requirements set out in a new version of the Building Regulations Approved Document B volume 1, which can be downloaded for free from the Welsh Government web site.
Applications registered prior to 31st December 2015 will not need to comply with the requirement for sprinklers provided that work starts before 1st January 2017.
