A few months ago, WWE announced that they had agreed a deal to have a merger with Endeavor, the company that owns UFC. That merger was
officially completed on September 12th 2023 and a new company ‘TKO’ was created. As was stated at the time the sale was announced,
Endeavor hold a 51% controlling interest in the company while WWE shareholders maintain the other 49%.
Speaking of the merger/creation of TKO, Endeavor CEO Ariel Emanuel said “The creation of TKO marks an exciting new chapter for UFC
and WWE as leaders in global sports and entertainment. Given their continued connectivity to the Endeavor network, we are confident
in our ability to accelerate their respective growth and unlock long-term sustainable value for shareholders. With UFC and WWE
under one roof, we will provide unrivaled experiences for more than a billion passionate fans worldwide.”
In terms of WWE leadership, this merger of course brought forth the return of Vince McMahon who briefly retired last year as Executive
Chairman of the Board which many WWE fans have expressed concern for as many believe McMahon is now out of touch with what modern audiences
want and dislike his reputation for rewriting shows at the last minute, sometimes more than once before any given show. Nick Khan will also
remain in his post as President of WWE. However one big change is that Paul Levesque, more commonly known as Triple H has seemingly been
removed from WWE’s Board of Directors. However it has been said that he will remain in his post as the Head of Creative for WWE.
Vince McMahon also spoke of the merger, touching on how he felt that given Endeavor reputation for the great work it did for building UFC’s
reputation/popularity he hopes that WWE will also now benefit from future growth/success as part of TKO with focus remaining on delivering
for WWE fans across the globe alongside UFC and under TKO.
