THIRTEEN people have been arrested in connection with the supply of Class A drugs in the Carmarthenshire area.
Over a five-day period, Dyfed-Powys Police officers conducted pre-planned warrants at a number of addresses in Llanelli.
Nine people were subsequently charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and remanded to court.
Another person was charged and bailed, and a further three people were arrested and released under investigation.
“This positive action demonstrates our commitment to tackling drugs crime within our communities,” said Detective Inspector Gareth Grant.
“The sale or misuse of drugs will not be tolerated by Dyfed-Powys Police.
“This operation follows concerns raised by members of the community, and we would like to thank local people for their continued support and understanding.”
During the operation local Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) conducted high-visibility patrols, and were on hand to engage with the community.
Local drug support agency DDAS was engaged to manage referrals and support in relation to drug abuse, addiction and rehabilitation.
