Gower and Llwchwr Estuary Lions first started their annual Tree of Light appeal in Gorseinon on a cold winters evening in December 2004, around a street light at Argyll Gardens near the bus station.

Since then it’s developed into a Christmas Concert, where on the first Friday in December, two local schools participate and we light a candle, then read out the dedication names with thoughts of those passed or distanced from us during the festive season.
Then Covid arrived and paused our concert for the time being, but we have been able to continue with the main format of Tree of Light and still raise money for local causes.
Last year we extended our appeal to cover Pembrey and Burry Port, Trimsaran and Kidwelly areas as served by Pembrey and Burry Port Foodbank, who were in desperate need to serve as many families with a Christmas Day meal.
We hop that this year we can reach a wider audience to raise more and help those in need again. The dedication names will be displayed locally and on our new updated website www.gowerlions.wales Please take a look and see the work our club achieves and look out for our posters within the community together with application forms, which should be returned to us and completed with your donation.
