SEWING AND GROWING FUNDING SUCCESS

CETMA’s CURAD Project has been successful in receiving funding from The Welsh Government.

The new project is called Sewing and Growing and is funded by the Carmarthenshire Connected Communities Fund and will run till the end of March 2022.

Carmarthenshire Connected Communities Fund is funded by the Welsh Government and managed by Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services (CAVS)

The aim is to support people by over the next couple of months by creating activity sessions and packs for families and Project Officer Gayna Bras said:

“Participants will be able to join in with activities such as Growing your own, Sewing, Jewellery Making, Knitting and Crocheting.”

“Some sessions will be run face to face and others via Zoom. It all depends on the Covid-19 restrictions that are in place.”

“We’ll also provide participants with any materials needed to create an item.”

The project will support people living in Llanelli, Pembrey and Burry Port, Kidwelly, St Ishmaels, Trimsaran, and Llangyndeyrn.

“We will work with Llanelli LGBTQ+, Choose2Reuse and Red Brand Media to provide activity sessions for our community and link in to our PBP Foodbank, Megan and the Food Squad and Home Growing projects.”

“We’re going to create activity sessions and packs for families and individuals over the next couple of months.”

“Basically it’s all about keeping people active, not only their bodies but their minds

Providing Social Engagement, Training, Health & Wellbeing through the development of unique sustainable projects for individuals, organisations & businesses as well.” Added Gayna.
