We would like to thank the residents and local community for their support and patience as emergency services continue to investigate the fire that occurred on Lady St, Kidwelly on Tuesday (March 24).
We are continuing to work closely with our partners in Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Carmarthenshire County Council.
As a precautionary measure for safety, neighbouring properties in the immediate vicinity of the property were evacuated.
Contractors are due to begin work at 9am tomorrow (March 27) towards ensuring structural safety of the building, so that the investigation can progress and to enable residents to return to their homes as quickly as possible.
While the priority is to facilitate the return of residents to their homes, this cannot occur until the site is deemed secure.
While this work takes place, Lady Street will remain closed.
We would continue to appeal for witnesses, or anyone who may have any information on this incident to please make a report to the force. We would also be keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from between 11pm on Monday (23/3) and 4am on (24/3).
