Walkers were today overjoyed to see that Sandy Water Park, Llanelli was once again filled with swans. This follows the extremely tragic news that was reported on Monday that 6 swans had been found shot and decapitated over the past 2 weeks.
At the time, RSPCA inspector Keith Hogben said: “It is difficult to understand why anyone would carry out such mindless attacks on innocent, defenceless creatures.”
Local walkers and visitors to the park had reported not seeing any at the park and were worried that the swans may have moved to another area. One visitor told us that:
“It was sickening what happened, how can someone do something like that to these beautiful birds?”
“I’ve been looking for them, but haven’t seen any. I came to have a look today and luckily I saw about 5 of them. I hope someone looks after them.”
