Research Impact Awards took place at Jurys Inn in Cardiff, celebrating the big achievements of those working within the support and delivery service.

The Hywel Dda team were joint winners of the public award which acknowledges the valuable research delivery achievements made by teams and individuals to increase opportunities for patients and the public to participate in, and benefit from, safe ethical research, regardless of geographical locations.

The team is consistently among the top recruiters for studies in Wales and the UK and during the awards Hywel Dda’s research teams were recognised for their “dedication” to providing access to clinical trials.

“For me it’s important to be recognised,” said Sarah Jones, lead research nurse at Bronglais General Hospital.

“We’re four small district general hospitals and people forget that sometimes small is better. We work very well together, we communicate well and through doing well with research we put our health board on the map.”

“We were really impressed by the nominations we received,” said Dr Nicola Williams, director of support and delivery at Health and Care Research Wales.

“We had double the amount of entries so it was even more competitive than last year!”

Llwyddiant cenedlaethol i Dîm Ymchwil Hywel Dda yng Ngwobrau Effaith Ymchwil y Gwasanaeth Cymorth a Chyflenwi 2019

Bellach yn eu hail flwyddyn, cynhaliwyd Gwobrau Effaith Ymchwil y Gwasanaeth Cymorth a Chyflenwi yn Jury’s Inn, Caerdydd, i ddathlu cyflawniadau sylweddol y rheiny sy’n gweithio yn y gwasanaeth cymorth a chyflenwi.

Roedd tîm Hywel Dda yn gyd-enillydd gwobr y cyhoedd, sy’n cydnabod cyflawniadau gwerthfawr timau ac unigolion o ran cyflenwi ymchwil er mwyn cynyddu cyfleoedd i gleifion a’r cyhoedd gymryd rhan mewn ymchwil foesegol, ddiogel, ac elwa ar yr ymchwil honno, ni waeth beth yw eu lleoliadau daearyddol.

Mae’r tîm yn gyson ymhlith y recriwtwyr gorau ar gyfer astudiaethau yng Nghymru a’r Deyrnas Unedig ac, yn ystod y gwobrau, cydnabuwyd timau Hywel Dda am eu “hymroddiad” i ddarparu mynediad at dreialon clinigol.

O’m rhan i, mae’n bwysig cael y gydnabyddiaeth,” meddai Sarah Jones, nyrs ymchwil arweiniol yn Ysbyty Cyffredinol Bronglais.

Rydym yn bedwar ysbyty cyffredinol dosbarth bach, ac mae pobl yn anghofio bod bach weithiau yn gyfystyr â gwell. Rydym yn gweithio’n dda gyda’n gilydd ac yn cyfathrebu’n dda, a thrwy wneud gwaith ymchwil da, rydym yn tynnu sylw at ein bwrdd iechyd.”

Roedd yr enwebiadau a gawsom wedi gwneud argraff fawr arnom,” meddai Dr Nicola Williams, cyfarwyddwr cymorth a chyflenwi Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru.

Cawsom ddwywaith cymaint o gynigion, felly roedd hyd yn oed yn fwy cystadleuol na’r llynedd!”
