A fundraiser who wanted to give back to a Hywel Dda hospital department has raised thousands of pounds for their local NHS charity.
Julie Standeven, President of Sioe Llanddarog, wanted to thank the dermatology department at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, for the care she received as a patient.
The committee for Sioe Llanddarog were able to raise a total of £3,000 for the ward by hosting a Sounds of the 70s supper night in October.
Held in Llanddarog village hall, the supper night included a buffet and anyone attending was encouraged to wear fancy dress.
All proceeds from the night were then shared between Sioe Llanddarog Show and the dermatology department.
Julie said she was thankful to Prince Philip Hospital’s dermatology department and to those who came to support her at the event.
She explained: “As a family we are very grateful for all the care and support that I have received from my first appointment back in March 2023.
“I would also like to thank everyone who supported and donated at the event held in Llanddarog.”

“Your kindness and dedication mean very much and your support will help make a genuine difference to our patients and the work we do every day, by enhancing patient experience and improving patient pathways.”
Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
