This month, two local children have become #1 best-selling authors on Amazon – internationally!
Seren Mai Rees, from Dafen, and Jax Strasdin, from Swiss Valley, both shared what ‘kindness’ means to them in the latest Child Author Project book – a project that focuses on mental health and emotions for children. 139 children took part altogether, aged 3 to 15 from all over the world, including UK, USA, Australia, Pakistan, Denmark, Canada, Panama, Austria, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, and even one child from The Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina!
The ‘Kindness’ book was a follow up to the #1 best-seller ‘Happiness’, it launched at the end of April and within 24 hours had reached #1 in various categories in UK charts and even hit #1 in the Australian charts, sitting amongst many famous authors! We were delighted to see us next to Seren’s favourite author, Eric Carle, in the hot new releases section! It’s worth mentioning the Happiness book also featured a few local children who are also best-selling authors now!
The project was set up in 2019 to really encourage and inspire children, to open the door for conversations about mental health and emotions, and to allow children and families to explore those concepts together. At such young ages, these children have achieved something absolutely incredible – they are #1 best-selling authors and they are proud to talk about mental health. I think that is really special.
