Continuing with the announcements we can reveal that Head of Foundation Rob Griffiths is appointed to Assistant General Manager and Vice-Chairman. Rob is currently Deputy Head of the School of Health, Sport, and Professional Practice at the University of South Wales.
Speaking with Media Officer Mike Hope Rob commented ‘As a strong advocate of community sport, I am passionate about the health and social benefits that people can get from football. Whether that’s from playing, coaching or spectating’Â
As the former Head of Football Coaching and Development at USW, Rob had oversight of one of the largest football coaching degree programs in Europe. He has worked closely with the Football of Wales Trust in supporting coach education and developing participation programs.
Rob added ‘I am committed to further developing the links between the club and the local community, in particular engaging with schools, community clubs, and Coleg Sir Gar. It is vital that we continue to develop the identity of Llanelli Town AFC within the region and ensure that the best players from the town that are playing in the Welsh pyramid are doing that with the Reds. We have an academy that is the envy of many clubs within the JD Cymru South and we need to develop the pathways between the academy and the first team’
