On Thursday April 1st we at the Llanelli Standard warned Llanelli residents on Facebook of a new speed camera being trialled along the coastal path, with restrictions in place as following.
Cyclists 10mph
Runners (elite) 8mph
Runners (amateur) 6mph
Runners (beginners) 4mph
Walkers 3mph
Walkers with dog variable speed limit
Walkers with children 1.5mph
Mobility scooters to be fitted with a limiter & must travel at 4.5 mphÂ
But thankfully this wasn’t to be, with the majority of people commenting realising the date April 1st and knowing April 1st is traditionally April Fools Day and yes low and behold this was a fun April Fools joke which was set up just before 10AM.
Without thinking how popular the post would the comments started coming in, the post was shared by hundreds and the laughing face reactions were constant, lots of fun comments were coming, including these following comments.
April Fool to you too, I can do it much faster than 10 mph on my bike and I’m a grandmother lol.
Don’t give them ideas, there daft enough as it is.
About time to some of them racing bikes don’t half shift.
