Jo Cox’s famous words that “we are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us” are being heard loud and clear this week in Llanelli.
The new Llanelli More in Common Partnership, which launches on Friday, is another step towards a long-term vision of the town as a stronger and better connected community.

Events include a formal launch with local community leaders; a live gig and a Great Get Together.
The Partnership – made up of community groups working together with councils, the Police and other statutory organisations – aims to deliver a series of activities to bring people together around the “more in common” message.

Chair of the Partnership, Steve Kelshaw, said:
“ The Town has come through tough times recently – but there has always been a quiet majority who have worked to bring people together, to share our stories, to offer support and to celebrate all that we have in common.
The Partnership is the next step on our journey and we are excited to work with the Jo Cox Foundation and other local and national bodies to carry on this work.
On the 10th anniversary of Jo Cox’s murder it is more important than ever to live by these values and to overcome differences and divisions.
We are calling on community leaders and the wider public to join us in making Llanelli a welcoming, tolerant and loving place for all those who wish to live, work and visit.”
