Llwynhendy Ward residents have contacted us as they believe that they are not getting equal services compared to other wards of Llanelli Rural Council. The residents pay the same rates as other areas but believe that they receive a much lower service.
The Pemberton Ward is the highest ward of deprivation within the Llanelli Rural Council remit however they are the only area without their own community hall. Bynea Ward, which is their neighbouring area, has two community halls which leads to Llwynhendy residents believing that this may be unfair.
We contacted Councillor Jason Hart for a comment.
“Llanelli Rural Council previously committed £600,00 to a Hub Development for Llwynhendy along with £330,000 from Our Llwynhendy, Sharen, Andrew, Kate and I are vigorously searching for additional funding to make the project a success. Llanelli Rural Council’s commitment to the Hub Development was stated on the last Council Tax demand notice. It’s great that Llanelli Rural Council are committed to levelling up Pemberton Ward in line with its other areas. The local community is very excited to see this project coming to fruition.”
