There are just a few days left to have your say on how the well-being of people in Neath, Port Talbot and Pontardawe could be improved over the next five years. A public consultation on the Council’s draft well-being objectives is due to end on Friday 8th September.
Council leader, Rob Jones said:
“We want our county borough to be somewhere where everyone has the chance to get on in life, where people want to live, work and bring up their families. We also want to help individuals, families and communities to be resilient and support themselves with minimal support from the Council. Our draft well-being objectives have been designed to help us achieve this.
“With only a few days of consultation left, I would encourage residents, community groups, third sector organisations, charities and local businesses to make their views known.”
There are three draft well-being objectives. They are, ‘giving all of our children and young people the best start in life and helping them to be the best they can be’; ‘enabling adults in the county borough to live a good life and age well’; and ‘making the county borough a vibrant and healthy place to live, work and spend our recreational time’.
The consultation is available online at www.npt.gov.uk/well-being. Alternatively, feedback can be emailed to improvement@npt.gov.uk, or paper copies of the feedback form and boxes for posting completed forms can be found at civic buildings, libraries and other public buildings across the county borough.
Feedback will be taken into consideration when developing the Council’s Corporate Plan over the next few weeks. This annual plan sets out the Council’s priorities for improvement, but from this year it will show how the Council intends to improve the well-being of people in the county borough as required by the Welsh Government’s ‘Well-being of Future Generations Act’.
