What the victim told police call handlers:
I’m a bit concerned.
I’ve been involved for the last fortnight with what I presume is the police fraud squad.
The first call I had to make was to Paddington Police Station. Then I was told to call you on 999

No I’ve been given names of the fraud squad involved with the bank

I’m in a state tonight and they are asking me to do something else, again.

I had to transfer money from my deposit account in Lloyds to my current account and in this process I had to ask them to transfer the money to gold coins.

The firm I was dealing with, I have the names…
They explained that gold coins would be a good idea.
I won’t go into it all.

The firm had arranged for the gold coins to be dispatched to me
They were packed very well, and the people I was dealing with on the fraud squad asked me to re pack them – which I did with no name on the packet.
Someone came to collect them and used the password I gave and said they were going to Lloyds in Cardiff

Today, they want me to transfer my Premium Bonds to my current account. When I rang Premium Bonds they said there was a hitch – It all had to be done in a hurry

These fraud squads are very caring and they ring me frequently
*
I have a son and I felt I could have done with his support but I was told that I’m not allowed to tell him, I also wish that I could tell my neighbours, but again, I have been told not to tell them.

I’ve spent more than £10,000 on these gold coins – I bought them over the phone.
