Danielle Allcard, a teaching assistant at Ysgol Gymraeg Llangennech, organised a charity evening and raised £4,000 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Prince Philip Hospital.
The event, which was held in November 2025 at Llangennech Rugby Club, was organised by Danielle as a thanks for the care and support she received on the unit.
Danielle said: “I wanted to give back to the Chemotherapy Day Unit as a thanks for their kindness and for looking after me so well whilst I was receiving chemotherapy treatment for ovarian cancer last year.
“The event went very well. It was great fun and nice to see lots of people contribute towards a good cause.
“I would like to thank all at Llangennech Rugby Club, everyone that came to the charity evening and everyone that gave towards the cause.”
Kath Watkins, Senior Sister, said: “On behalf of the staff and patients at the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Prince Philip Hospital, I would like to thank Danielle and her family and friends for their fundraising efforts resulting in a very generous donation of £4,000.
“We are always looking at ways to improve the environment and improve the way we care for patients within the Chemotherapy Day Unit. Please be assured that this money will go towards this improvement. Thank you!”
