Action for Children is looking for runners to join its Swansea half marathon team ahead of the prestigious event taking place in the city on June 25th.
The event is the perfect opportunity for runners of all ages and abilities to run as part of Action for Children’s team raising money for those children and young people who need it most.
Action for Children fundraiser Nina Rice, said: “The flat and fast Swansea course will pass many of the city’s historical buildings, the bay area and vibrant city centre, giving you a fantastic view and showcasing Swansea in all its glory as you run, jog or walk the route. This a great opportunity to take part in a great Welsh competition and by choosing to run and fundraise for Action for Children, you will help us to change the lives of vulnerable and neglected children, young people and their families across Wales.”
Runners can join the Action for Children team with their own place or with one of Action for Children’s 10 charity places. For these there is a £25 registration fee and £250 minimum sponsorship.
All Action for Children runners will receive a support package including:
• Fundraising pack to help you raise sponsorship
• Action for Children running vest
• Fundraising support from your local fundraising team

How Action for Children works: from before they are born until they are into their twenties, we help disadvantaged children across the UK. We help them through fostering or adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse. We make life better for disabled children. We influence policy and advocate for change. Our 7,000 staff and volunteers operate over 600 services, improving the lives of 390,000 children, teenagers, parents and carers every year. We succeed by doing what’s right, doing what’s needed, and doing what works for children.
