A 48-hour fishing competition and raffle held at the White Springs Fishery in Pontardulais has raised £1,200 for The Wish Fund.
The Wish Fund is a campaign delivered by Hywel Dda Health Charities which creates lasting memories for children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and their families.
The event, which was held in October 2025, was organised by the Hill family who own White Springs Fishery. Their son, Jaden Hill, has been supported for many years by children’s services after being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
To say thanks for the care Jaden has received, the family arranged the competition, raffle and sponsorship collection, donating half of the proceeds to the Wish Fund and half to a Cystic Fibrosis charity.
The Hill family are long‑standing supporters of Hywel Dda children’s services and have now donated well over £10,000 through their fundraising events.

We are so grateful for your continued support. Your generosity over the years has made a real difference to our services, and we truly appreciate it.
